While I applaud the PCUSA for the courage it deomonstrated in an effort to move on past this distracting issue, it still remains to be seen as to whether or not it will make it through a majority of the presbyteries. I pray that it will and that the PCUSA can get on with being a witness and presence of our Lord in addressing far, far more important issues in our world. Can sinners be Clergy, hell yes, we're all sinners. Obviously there's a difference between sinning and recognizing it as sin, and just sinning and thinking it's totally fine. The question is, is homosexuality sin? I think the scriptures are clear that it is, aren't they? Perhaps not. Would love to hear arguments for homosexuality not being sin.
